Pró-Tapir / IMD and Zoo Park Mountain will celebrate together in the World Tapir Day program, next weekend

This week we celebrate the World Tapir Day, more precisely on the 27th of April! This is a date to alert everyone how it is important to protect species that are essential for the forests. In celebration, the Zoo Park Mountain, located in the city of Marechal Floriano, Espírito Santo, Brazil, and the Pró-Tapir Program/Marcos Daniel Institute will host a series of educational activities on Saturday (30/April) from 13:00 to 16:00 and on Sunday (01/May) from 09:00 to 16:00.

During the activities, the public will know more about this important species that occurs in Brazil and also about other tapir species in the world. And most importantly, we want everyone to know how tapir is an extremely intelligent animal. Also, the public will have the chance to vote for the names of three tapirs, living in the Zoo Park.

All species of tapirs are endangered. The Lowland tapir (Tapirus terrestris), Brazil’s largest native land mammal, is in Endangered in the Atlantic Forest and in the state of Espírito Santo, in Brazil.

We cannot let the gardener of the forests be extinct. Everyone can do a lot for it and its forests! If you want to make a difference, donate to our project! More information HERE.
